Welcome Carlos and Mara!

Carlos López is a pastor from the Presbyterian Church of Mexico and is currently working with VIDA. He and his wife, Mara, are living in the Eastboro community and truly have a heart for this ministry.
They come to us from the Presbytery of the Pacific in Taxco, Guerrero, Mexico. Carlos has been a pastor with the Presbyterian Church of Mexico for twenty-five years. Most recently he was serving a church in the city of Taxco, but has also served both as Dean and President of the Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Mexico City.

VIDA extends a very warm welcome to Carlos and Mara and is happy to have Carlos working as the newest member of its staff.

VIDA is a mission project of the twelve Presbyterian Churches in Shawnee County. Our purpose is to form relationships with Latinos by identifying and helping meet needs in the East Topeka community. “Vida” means life in Spanish. Christ calls us to serve and to share the life that we have in Him.

There are opportunities for participation in any of three areas: praying, giving, and serving. Weekly prayer meetings are open to anyone and are held each Wednesday at 12:00 noon. If you would like more information about how you can be involved, please contact us.

Please note that, unless specified, none of our programs require knowledge of the Spanish language. There are other opportunities to serve outside of our programs. If you would like to know more about how you could use your gifts with VIDA, please contact us.
